After School Enrichment Program
The Beacon Hill International PTA After School Program is a parent-run program that provides engaging, culturally-relevant, and accessible after-school classes for BHIS students.
Sessions occur in the Fall, Winter, and Spring. Classes are 60 minutes long and range from crafts & performing arts to STEM, sports, cooking, and more. Session schedules and class offerings are determined by the After School Program Coordinator with input from parents, BHIS administration and teachers, and community.
Fall Schedule
Starts: September 28
Ends: December 10
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
All classes are one hour. 2:45 – 3:45 PM
How to Register
BHIS PTA is committed to ensuring ALL students can participate in the After School Program and strives to have a registration process that is fair and equitable.
During the registration period half of spaces in classes are first-come first-served. The other half of spaces account for scholarship needs, application barriers (language barriers, technology barriers, and literacy barriers), and serving students furthest from educational justice. This model is an effort to support participation in enrichment activities to our students with the greatest challenge in accessing them.
Payment or scholarship request and all required registration information must be received upon registration.
Registration Fees
We understand that every family’s financial situation is unique. We encourage you to select the option that’s best for your family at this time. The fees are per each student participating.
- Level A: $270
- Level B: $180
- Level C: $90
- Level D: Pay what you can
Your payment of any level keeps this program running – bringing in new programming, offering paid opportunities for BHIS parents and community members, providing snacks for students, and making sliding scale options possible. Please consider that when selecting your payment amount.
Financial Assistance and Scholarships
BHIS PTA works to ensure all students are able to participate in the After School Enrichment Program regardless of cost.
To request a scholarship, submit a paper registration form and note “scholarship” on the form.
The BHIS PTA is able to provide financial assistance thanks to our sliding scale model, donations from BHIS families, scholarships provided by vendors, and grants.
How to pay?
When registration opens there are two ways to sign up:
- Online via CheddarUP
- Filling out a paper form and returning that to a PTA Drop Box in the school.
Please do not return to teachers or BHIS staff. They are not allowed to manage money.
Where are the PTA drop boxes?
- The front office next to the sign in kiosk.
- The E Pod Hallway between Señor Dominguez’s classroom and the Music Room.
